As you may know or have heard before, New Orleans is not a destination, but rather a state of mind. While I may no longer live there full time, I tear up every time I see the “Bienvenue en Louisiane” sign on my drive from Tennessee where I-59 turns into I-10. I drive straight to my mom’s house uptown, where she pours me a French 75 and we rock on the porch and listen to the sounds of the city. Ian is now an honorary Louisianian, and there is no greater joy than watching him adopt traditions from the patchwork of my culture . We can’t thank you enough for celebrating with us!

Here are some of our favorite things to do, places to eat, and watering holes to drink to get you in the New Orleans state of mind.
